Hello! Adela here, and today I'd like to share with you some projects I made using the new Spellbinders™ M-Bossabilities folders! These are probably my favorite folders to work with for several reasons, one of them being that you get TWO coordinating designs in one folder! Just flip the folder and you've got your second design. I really like their deep impressions and the ability to finally emboss a larger area of card stock without such noticeable seam lines!
For my first card, I wanted to give the look of old embossed leather with a masculine feel. To achieve that look, I used one side of the Music folder on kraft card stock. After embossing, I dabbed the entire piece with Rust distress ink until the paper was almost soaking with it. Cover the entire area with VersaMark ink and sprinkle clear embossing powder over the entire area; melt with heat tool. For the inside pocket, I embossed it with the flip side of the Music folder. For contrast, I embossed black card stock using the So Trendy folder, added VersaMark ink, sprinkled clear embossing powder, and melted it with the heat tool. This is the result you get. Doesn't it look like leather? It even fooled my husband to thinking it was leather!
For my next project, I made a Card and Birdhouse Topiary Set using the Mystic folder. When embossing vellum, you may get a little bit of cracking, but that's okay, it gives it a bit of character!
To add texture to the birdhouse roof, I used Side A of the Mystic folder to emboss regular card stock. For the "tile" on the birdhouse planter, I flipped the folder over to Side B and embossed vellum paper.
For the "tile" on the card, I used two sheets of vellum paper and embossed them together (for a more opaque look) using Side B. I matted it over a plain sheet of vellum paper to give it a soft frame.
Here's a quick video from the amazing Kim Crawford showing you how to use the Spellbinders™ M-Bossabilities™folders. Best part is that you get two folders for the price of one :)
