It's Tutorial Monday on Paper Craft Planet and today I'm your host! When a project calls for a cutout of a border for a window or frame, we are often limited to the size of the punch or die we have on hand. This tutorial will show you how to create a bordered frame of any size using only one square punch!
SUPPLIES
Square Punch (any size)
Card Stock
Cut card stock to the size needed for the outer edge of frame. The inside cutout will begin around 3/4 inch from outer edge, depending on the depth of your square punch.
To make the first punch, slide one side of card stock all the way into square punch. Make first punch near center of card stock.
For the second punch, give card stock a quarter turn, slide card stock all the way into square punch. Make second punch near center of cardstock.
Repeat two more times for the third and fourth edges of card stock. (For rectangles or larger squares, punch as many times as needed along each edge.)
At this point, you will be left with four corner squares.
Align the square punch at each corner and punch.
You should now have a cutout frame with a border of about 3/4 inch.
For a narrower border, simply trim on all four sides along edge, as I've done with the frame on this card.
Thanks for stopping by!
