Jumping Ahead to Summer

It's still a few weeks away, but yes, I'm making a Fourth of July card. I've combined several challenges to make this card and I think combining them all is a challenge in itself!

Seeing the challenge over at the Shabby Tea Room inspired me to make this a Fourth of July card.  Their challenge this week: Red, White and Blue or Stars and/or Stripes! Since I couldn't find a Fourth of July stamp in my collection that I liked, I decided to use my Cricut along with the Sure Cuts A Lot software. The two work great together when you want something cut but don't have the cartridge for it.

This card also went with the challenge over at Stamp Something, which was to make a card with a celebration theme. Fourth of July, fireworks, picnics... I call that celebrating!

The current challenge over at the Cupcake Craft Challenge blog is to use charm in the design. I finally had a reason to use my Star charm, which has been sitting around for over a year. I attached it using fishing line and glue dots.

The last challenge is the one from Flourishes Timeless Tuesday, which was to use chipboard. I came across this challenge at the last minute and knew exactly which chipboard to use. My only regret is using those micro glass beads from SU! that I've never opened and have sat in my "stash" for about a couple of years now.  Maybe it's patience you need to use this stuff, but I'm not too happy with the process. Maybe some of you like using these, but for now, I'll keep it "stashed" away!

SUPPLIES
Paper: Vanilla, Red, Prima Marketing DP
Ink: Red
Acc: Star Chipboard (SU!), Star Charm (Walmart), Script Cuttlebug Folder (Provo Craft), Stickles, Stitched Ribbon (SU!), Blue Glass Beads (SU!), Score Pal, Glue Pen (Tombow), Cricut for Sentiment using SCAL, Sponge, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

That's it for now.  Thanks for visiting!

Adela ... this is wonderful! I {heart} the embossed background paper and how clever to use your Cricut to cut the words in lieu of an appropriate stamp!! Thanks so much for joining us in the Tea Room this week :)
