The Joy of Summer

This is just a quick post. I wanted to make a card to contribute to the Paper Craft Planet May Album (our theme this month is Summer Lovin').

The color combo is from this week's Color Throwdown.

The sketch is from Mojo Monday.

SUPPLIES
Digital Image: Taylored Expressions
Paper: White, Pink Pirouette, Melon, K and Company DP
Ink: Copic Markers
Acc: Buttons (Making Memories), Prima Flowers, 3/4" Ribbon (SU!), Ric Rac Ribbon (May Arts), Rhinestones, Twine, Thread, Nestabilities Label Dies, Paper Piercer, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Oh, before I go, if you look at the butterfly image, you'll see that part of it is "outside" the cutting lines of the Nestabilities die. I didn't glue the image on the die cut piece, it's actually one piece of paper. About a year and a half ago, I did a short tutorial on how I did that.  Here's a copy of my post:

Here's a little tip when using the Nestability die and you'd like part of the image to stick out (like Hanna's hand in the photo). Trim around the part of the picture that you don't want the die to cut and snip into the image just enough so that when the die is inserted, the part that you don't want cut can be lifted "over" the die (see photo).  Now you can run it through the cutting machine and everything will be trimmed except for the "glove" over the die.

Here's a photo of the finished project. It was a photo album cover for my mother-in-law who loves to take pictures of her garden.

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

I was actually wanting to do that the other day (leave part of the image uncut) and forgot how! Thanks for the reminder. Your card is BEAUTIFUL! I love the summery colors, beautiful butterfly and the sweet flowers. Hope you have a lovely weekend (I know I am jumping ahead but I am so ready for the weekend!!! :D)
