CELEBRATING FATHERS Blog Hop!

Welcome to Creations by AR's May Release Blog Hop!  Celebrating Fathers is our theme this month and what was usually a happy and special occasion for me and my family, this year it's actually a very difficult time. My Papa passed away 12 days ago and because we live over 500 miles away from each other, I was not there to say good-bye to him, which I'll always regret.

I'd like to dedicate this month's release to my Papa. I will forever miss his love, his singing and his sense of humor.

A few weeks ago, I was thinking about my father's Army trunk and all the sentimental things he kept inside it. That trunk was the inspiration for this template, Papa's Trunk. It can be used as a gift box, favor box, or as a memento holder.  I wish I had finished it sooner to show him.

A subtle way to tell your Dad to relax is to make this Comfy Sofa Gift Box for him.  There is a hidden box in the seat area just waiting to be filled with tickets to a game!  The best part about this template is that you can add on to make a love seat or a full sectional sofa.

You will have several chances to win one of our new templates just by participating in our hop. All you have to do to qualify to win is to leave a comment at each of the blogs listed below and on Saturday, May 26th, be sure to revisit the blogs to see if your name was chosen as one of the winners!

By the way, we have two new AR Girls!  They are Lori Brown and Lyn Bernatovich. Be sure to congratulate them!

  1. Awesome! I was doing lots of 3D projects last fall but the it seems like I have been almost exclusively cards now. I think this has to change!

I love the loveseat and section option too! Then the trunk...lots of possibilities there!

  15. I love the trunk it too reminds me of my father. He was a carpenter and made me a trunk for my 18th birthday to use as my glory box. I still have the trunk and it currently stores all my quilting fabrics. Although my father is still alive, he is no longer able to build anything as he suffers from dimentia, so to make this for him and fill it with memories will be a great gift. Thanks so much for sharing. Sarah
